Maricel Alvarado » Sobre la Artista

About the Artist

Maricel Alvarado had inclination to art since very young. It began at age eleven when she started painting oil next to her uncle Francisco Alvarado Abella. After graduating from High School she studies Interior Decoration in the Esempi Art & Decoration School. In 1982 she returns to oil classes with the painter Alvarado Abella and carries from that year on workshops in different techniques of painting with artists such as Cristina Fournier, Ana Griselda Hine, Sonia Romero, the french artist Jean Christophe Bourg and the argentinian artist Eduardo Barracosa.

In her constant search she is introduced in the world of glass without fully departing from painting. She receives workshops with local and foreign artists such as Mayra Sancho, the italian artist Aldo Canale, the Director of Research and Education Bullseye Resource Center Ted Sawyer, Caterina Fuscaldo, Eva Vlásaková y Tomás Málek from the Czech Republic, the North American artist Jody Danner Walker and the Venetian artist Lucia Santini.
